climbed on a big tree.
The weather was good,
brewed some tea from the neighborhood.
Pink, blue and Grey hoodies,
Holding hands, sat three buddies.
for the world it was friendship day today,
but for us it was Promise day.
To maintain our bonding,
And continue teasing and trolling.
It was a school reunion,
fancy bands and dancing trillion.
But before we could complete tying bands and making promise ceremony,
Komal got a call from hone because her little daughter was crying, Savi too rushed for am important fashion exhibition which was to be organised.
The promise was broken before it was made.
I woke up…I woke up and realised it was a dream and I was celebrating friendship day with my friends there…
I started cherishing the days when we were together, would go to school sitting together in the school bus, gossiping a number of new daily soaps and magazines.
I missed the days when we woke up early morning and reached to the local thadi for sipping tea on the cold mornings of December hiding from hostel wardner and CCTVS.
I missed the school blackboard which we decorated with fancy chalks on special occasions.
I missed the cantneen Maggie and fashion show with my girl gang.
How awesome it was to troll the new physics teacher to that extent that he won’t come again next day .
That was the time when we telephoned each other during midnight telling about the worst exam preparations and last minute doubts .
Now before calling a friend we have to think 100’s of times, when to talk, how to start, what to share, what not to ?
That was the time when we sat on the last benches and had unlimited laughter munching on the yummy lunch boxes fragrance brewing in the air, those days when we least cared about love affair.
Those time were preciouest of the life…
Bade hote gaye, dosti mit thi gayi.
It is friendship day today, and then comes my little nephew from his friends home showcasing me the number of bands he has received.
