Grandpaa was not feeling well that day..
So early morning Dad took him to doctor.
The doctor examined him and said it was ache of old age,
‘The reddened legs and pale eyes’
and will disappear within some time .
Granny was shivering; of her old age.
They both stayed in different rooms because if they stayed in same room they fought 100 times on a simple thing.
This was cute fight, but sometimes they ended up behaving like kids and did not eat dinner or lunch because of anger.
Finally they both thought to stay in different room.
Their room were opposite too each others and their bed was at the entrance of room so that they can see each other 24*7
Their time was now spent sleeping, eating and worshiping on same bed.
I love this that they take care so much of each other.
That day granny caught my both hands and walked, to his room.
She shivered when she walked, as doctor says that only15% of lungs are alive now.
She reached his room just close to hers
In almost ten minutes.
And then asked, “How are you doing my beloved”?
I was happy to see that after 85 years of togetherness they are still so much in love that they ask each other, fight with each other still never miss drinking tea together.
I brewed tea for them both
And got granpaa’s favourite Marry biscuits.
I watched them having tea –
The follwing thoughts gripped my mind.
It makes me sad. Sometimes when I see them both siting and talking about the once good life they lived in and now they are just slaves of medicines and could hardly even drink water at their own.
I sit with them and discuss stories of their time.
They tell me that the garden in the backyard of our house was just purchased for few rupees.
And its “Green-Gold” of our house.
It flourish flowers, vegetables and a playground for children.
For me my garden is the best place to blog, read novels and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee talking to my plants and sparrows.
Yes talking to plants, I just love that and somehow I believe that if I talk to my plants they feel happy and stay healthy.
Then I recalled the stories grandpaa told me about “Value of money”.
He says that during our time if any of is owned 10 rupee note that he was richest among all and we all would obey him and treat him with extra benefits So that we are in his good books.
Grandpaa says that during his time they purchased a Samosa or pie in just 1Anna – this facts surprises me.
He also tells me about his hard work and struggle stories, these all leave me teary – eyed.
I avoid going to hostel not because of home sickness but because I miss my grannies and I don’t feel like staying at hostel avoiding caressing my grandparents in their old age.
And if I am at hostel I reach home every weekend taking sick leave and then high five my grandparents than their child is here.
Mamma says grandparents overpamered me :p because they never scold us and take our favour over mom dad’s.
Also Grandpa’s are encyclopaedia of old knowledge, they know everything about Indian history, old methods of agriculture and so on.
They are the one who introduced me to Mowgli.
Haha many characters but mentioning mowgli because of The Jungle Book movie releasing on April 15 on India :).
And than I was distracted because they both fought over the grocery ….
And I laughed and woke up and took granny to her room.
I love them beyond life, when I see them taking insulin’s and plenty of medicines I die everyday so I literally wish God to take away their bad health and keep me blessed with ‘them’ forever.
I am all thankful to my Papa, that he takes care of my grandpaa very well.
And then in the evening we were planing their 80th Wedding Annivesary and we thought to call all their friends , so that they talk to them and feel good.
