Dosto, every evening after the work of a busy day, I go to my grandparents and sit with them discussing the whole day.
It became my routine, we both share good bonding, they talk about politics, to rains this year, to how they lead a life in 60’s and everything.
September arrived, and first time in my life span I saw proper rains in Rajasthan.
Earlier when I travelled in locals it used to be warm everywhere and greenery couldn’t be seen anywhere.
Many domestic animals were dependent on the food and vegetable wastes, the local people offered them.
They haven’t got water and grass to graze so they started munching on papers and plastic wastes they found on road, it was very dangerous for them and often caused their death but they had no other option to satisfy their hunger.
This year it was different, recently I travelled five six times in the locals from morning and came back during night.
I saw cows eating the green and fresh grass collected on the field’s side, cows were very happy and healthy than before now.
This made me happiest to see that how some rain brought back happiness to those cows.
So I told grandpaa about the good rains and how it benefited cows.
During rainy days we discussed about rains, necessity of rains and how to utilise it to the fullest by keeping the surroundings free of rain insects and mosquitoes.
After the rains, came September, now the monsoon is saying bye and it is known as season of harvest.
The fields are all green now, and glitters during morning when the sun rises.
Those fields and that crops are the treasure to the farmers.
They wake up early morning and go to the fields to inspect their grains, and to harvest them at the right time.
Farmers believe that when the early morning or late night winds turns out to be cold and a little foggy and when the crops are bathed with the water droplets of the first fog, it is time to harveSt crops. It is time when monsoon rain won’t come anymore.
After the first fog, monsoon rain says bye !
I am really surprised when i see those predictions of old man coming true, the way how my grandpaa detects the exact time just by looking at sun and shadows.
I really feel those people are most experienced and use their knowledge very well.
Then Grand pass shares with me a little story of his childhood days,
He says that when he was 8-9 years old, he woke up at 4a.m with his friends and took showers in the chilled pond water.
Then along with his friends he went to fields to harvest the crops.
His brother told them that the person who would make the biggest collection will be rewarded with Ghee, Gur and Bajara Chapati in extra.
This was the biggest reward for them.
We crave for chocolates now but to earlier people getting ghee and gur (jaggery) was like winning gold in Olympics.
So my grandpa and his friends went there and started collecting the crops to a bundle.
Most often my grandpaa won and I asked him, why always you only won Grandpaa, what was the secret ?
Then he said that I was very clever,
I read stories in newspapers and books and by hearted them during nights. when I went there, I used to start telling them those tales.
I was a very good storyteller.
I used to college t good atmosphere with my tales and they all used to listen me quietly.
When i started those stories, they used to stop working and came near me to listen my stories, I used to tell stories and work equally but they used to stop working and listen to my stories so everyday at the end my bundle used to be the biggest.
I laughed at this and while telling this my grandpaa laughed too.
He recalled those times, his friends, the fields and then says that time was really very auspicious.
