Before the Rain Begins..
He wakes up to office, get tired and sleep. It became his daily routine but today it was different .
While he was coding on his laptop screen, a strong breeze waved.
The window of his office room started shaking and buzzing.
It disturbed him.
He stood up from his round chair to close the window but instead of closing the window the fragrance of first rain took him more and more near to it.
As he went near, it started to rain.
It was raining heavily, the hot walls and warm air were cooled in just no time.
A little water splashed over his face
He closed the files, went downstairs.
Took a deep breath.
He opened his arms and hugged the rain.
The rain hugged him back with a thundering noise.
He loosened the grip of his tie
Unbuttoned his wrist buttons and folded them over the elbow.
And danced his heart out.
Over the years he was busy into files but this rainy day was magical
It brought him back to life.
Magic Of Rainy Day…
I was sitting in my verandah and a group of little kids were playing cricket. That day they are playing cricket with their favorite uncle of the society. It was him.
Everyone seemed happy and even that uncle because rain brings with it the charisma to be happy.
When it rains all of us want to be with that special person of our life and romance along with the drizzling droplets of water.
I saw a sparrow couple sitting on wire; chattering and playing. Maybe it doesn’t catches current on wires.
People who are single think about their someone somewhere. Most of the CCDs and foodcourts are occupied with the lovebirds of town during monsoon.
And when it rains heavily during weekends we can smell the brewing ginger tea and Paneer pakodas and an uncle aunt sitting on their balcony on their favorite chair.
This chair is used only once a year that is during the monsoons. Else they are occupied in factories and kitchen work.
Looking at them all I was happy but then my curiosity arose looking at the happiness of uncle.
Do he miss her wife ?
And is this the reason he is playing with those kids to divert his mind in the season of romance ?
Yes, He lost his wife three years ago. She became victim of cancer and one day I woke up to loud cries from neighbourhood. I realised that it happened finally, she left the world. That uncle was left alone with two little ones to be taken care of.
His house became his office. He chosen to be a full-time blogger so that he can give equal time and take care to his kids.
This made me sad for a moment but then I was happy to see that family happy on a rainy day and thanked God because of which that rude uncle smiled for once in so many years.

I also thanked God for the rain because I was bored. Due to government orders Internet was not available to my district for seven days. I can’t imagine an hour without internet so 7 days were too much for me.
I was angry but rain that day and the love around calmed me down. I spent those 7 days in my balcony writing down things in my laptop, reading and noticing those kids and beauty of nature around me. Believe me those rain were absolutely for me. For once I a social media butterfly didn’t miss internet.
Conclusion –
Life is better offline and I decided I will take such offline breaks more often.
Note – I haven’t narrated the reason for non availability of Internet because it is a serious case and we are asked to spread peace instead of spreading that incident.

Beautiful piece, good job!
When ever i go to my native, i get devoid of network which obviously means no internet! At first i used to feel how am i going to spend this day without technology at my finger tips! But once i spent 15days in a row without that i understood what we are actually missing in our life…!
You have penned down similar thoughts wonderfully!
It’s always great to go offline and soak in real life completely. Great post.
Rain brings out the romantic in us it seems. We have a tendency to feel energized and refreshed when the cool wind blow carrying the tiny drops of water along. That 7 day incident seems curious but I respect the need to be sensitive about it.
Ah! I enjoy and dance like hell in the rain with all my spirits up. I just love soaking it all in. Loved the narration and it indeed addresses an important issue of how we actually stopped living in this mechanical cycle.
