Upma, A Tasty Breakfast For Family
Upma is a popular South Indian breakfast with contains many vegetables and is best when eaten hot with curd, pickle and bhujiya.
Recipe Of making Upma at home –
Ingredients Required –
- Channa Dak
- Curry leaves
- Red Chilli powder
- Green chillies
- Mustard Seeds
- Corainder leaves
Method of making Upma –
Step 1 – Add a spoon of ghee in a pan and roast the suji (semolina) Roast it on a low flame, with the help of a spoon. When the suji will be roasted completely it will stop sticking to the spoon, at this stage we have to take it to another container.
Step 2 – Now in the same pan, add Ghee, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, channa Daal.
Roast them for two minutes, then we have to add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies and carrots.
After two minutes we will add 3 cups of water and 1 cup of milk to it , we have to add salt and chilli powder too.
When the water will start boiling we have to add the roasted suji by one hand slowly slowly, and on the other side keep moving it with a spoon.
We have to be careful here because the bubbles can hurt us.
When the water almost vanishes, we have to garnish the upma with coriander leaves.
It is ready, a perfect and healthy breakfast for family on Sundays.
P.S – We can also add peas and other vegetables as per choice depends upon the availability of them during the season.
