Recipe of making a perfect Sabudana Khichadi –
I am foodie and when I fragrance Sabudana khichadi or see my friends uploading its picture I can’t resist so I make for myself immediately a delicious bowl of the nutritional khichadi. The khichadi is very healthy due to additions of so many proteins to it like nuts, dry fruits, fruits, ghee etc and believe me it is so tasty and always a better option for me to avoid fast foods like Pasta, noodles and Maggie. Sabudana khichadi if rightly made then can be the favourite snack for anyone including kids. Making perfect Sabudana khichadi is an art which can’t be expertised by everyone so read the recipe which I followed carefully and make it by following the instructions one by one. I have tried and tested the recipe many time before hitting a perfect bowl so I want you to follow the steps exactly so that you don’t repeat the mistakes which I did earlier in making it wrong.Believe me the bowl in front of eyes at last will be all worth the hard work invested while making the sabudana khichadi-

Ingredients Needed for making sabudana khichadi –
- Boiled potatoes
- Green chilies
- Crushed coconut – 2 tsp.
- Roasted peanuts – 2 tbsp.
- Chaat Masala Powder – 1 tsp.
- Sugar – 1 tsp.
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp.
- Ghee – 2 tbsp.
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp.
- Hing – 1/4 tsp.
- Cashews – 4-5 roughly crushed
- Curry leaves – 4-5in numbers
- Salt as per taste
- Size Zero Bhujiya
- Coriander leaves finely chopped
- Pomegranate seeds
Recipe of Sabudana khichadi –
Step 1 – Wash sabudana and then soak it in water for around 6-7 hours in a bowl. Don’t add too much water at once, just keep an eye on the bowl on hourly basis and add the water as soon as it vanishes from the bowl.( Take sabudana and crush it with finger, it should be soft and unsticky )Now keep the soaked sabudana in freeze for almost an hour )
Step 2 – We want freshness in our khichadi so we will roast some freshly pealed off peanuts and then roast them on a tava. The fragrance will invite kids to the kitchen.After roasting the peanuts we will remove the skin, and then crush them, we can keep some peanuts for Garnishing too.
Step 3 – Boil 2 potatoes, chop off some green chilies finely. Cut the potatoes into little cubes.
Step 4. Heat Ghee, Add cumin seeds, add hing, add curry leaves, add green chilies and let them all splutter then add boiled potatoes.
Step 5. On other side, In the soaked sabudana add crushed coconut,roasted peanuts powder, peanuts, sugar, salt, red chili powder, chaat masala and mix everything well.
Step 6 – Add this mixture into the Tadka pan and then mix everything.
Step 7. Garnish with crushed cashew sugar, size zero bhujiya, pomegranate seeds and freshly chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot and enjoy with family. It is perfect sabudana khichadi for a rainy evening. It is a delicious healthy snack for everyone.
Things to keep in mind while making the khichadi for a perfect bowl-
- Soaking the sabudana rightly as mentioned above is an important step for the recipe.
- Always roast the peanuts while making the recipe and also use fresh pomegranate seeds and coriander leaves for maintaining the freshness of the recipe.
- Keeping the soaked sabudana in freeze will enhance its taste and make it non-sticky.
