I woke up with blinking eyes at 4a.m in the morning. The noise of the Ganga river was clearly heard to ears through the window at the top room where I stayed.
It was a fresh and beautiful morning.
It was dark but still slow breeze and waves talking with another waves appeared mellifluous.
The River was again silent now after the big flood. (Uttrakhand tragedy of 2013.)
And I was about to leave back to Rajasthan today after the trip of 15 days of Rishikesh.
Windows always tempted me and getting a room with a window from where the whole Rishikesh was visible, I felt happiest.
The place was not much noisy from last few days because of the big loss due to flood at Ganga Ghats.
A few saints and old ladies were taking their bath on the Ghat.
What I seen was that a monkey came to the ghat, and raised his hands up doing ‘Namaskar’ to the river.
The scene left me in awe. I was happy to see the divine and spiritual air in the laps of mother nature.
I got ready and Meera, the woman who helped us in cooking food for our journey came on time.
She made for us Chilly pickle, Aloo puri and kept sweets and snacks for journey.
I never wanted to leave the place but I had to go as it was long time so we picked up luggage and came down. We met all other neighbouring people with whom we were attached by now.
We also took blessings of old grandpaa who were staying in Ashram from longtime.
We were about to leave, a cat crossed our way.
Often cats are related to superstitions but everyone ignored it as no one wanted to be worried.
Then grandpaa told papa that in the journey there will be obstacles so be careful an don’t get stressed, God is with you.
Our luggage was kept in the car dickey.
And what happened then is that my index finger was closed in the dickey.
Omg what pain, I was crying in pain.
My finger got swollen and blood circulation stopped.
Somehow I acted matured and controlled tears and said thank God its not bleeding.
I kept it pressed under my lips as instructed by mummy.
And then we departed with a hope to come back soon.
And Papa uttered that there was a big thing going to happen with us but it turned out on your finger by act of God.
I never believed in this all so I ignored this.
The darkness slowly slowly started vanishing.
People were on roads during morning walks and bicycle riding.
Many sports students were during their daily dose of exercise in the fields.
We passes through ‘Vashisth’ a forest .
The forest on both side was beautiful.
This place is in my must visit again and again list, I feel belonged to the forest trees, mountains and that long rocks beautifying the mountains.
The more the sun rays were spread, the more the birds made noise.
Within no time there was huge noise of birds and creepers.
People also believe that this place is not safe from traveling during night hours as wild elephants come on roads and the headlights of car drive them to anger.
Sun rays were taking their first ride to earth through long Trees.
I was enjoying the winds and nature.
It was just like I am reading a beautiful book which has so many stories to tell me about the nature.
The drive went smooth.
While mom dad slept, I was still looking outside and to my surprise I found a deer running in the forest.
The scenery was breathtaking.
I once seen a deer in A Ramayana Series where Shri Ram finds a devil in the mask of a golden deer, from that day onwards I always wanted to see an innocent deer running in a forest in real.
It disappeared in no minutes.and my eyes kept searching for another ones.
Along with the cool breeze, I felt like sleeping.
We have crossed half way journey.
And driver for uncle said the road was good so we will reach early.
After three four hours of sleep, we woke up.
I was looking at vehicles on highway, mango trees around and so on.
The monkeys were sitting on mango trees, they took a fruit, tasted it and there if it was not ripened and sweet.
They were doing their naughty tricks.
What happened next was shocking !
A cycle rider, came from a wrong side and jumped on our car and hit it.
The entire car mirror was smashed into pieces and the mirror reached to back seats.
Before I could make anything of it, what I seen was blood on road.
I checked if everyone was safe.
Thankfully no one got even a scratch in the car.
With tears looked here and there.
People started gathering.
Some people told us that bhaiya, Don’t stop the car, if you don’t want a mess .
Immediately run .
But how could we run?
Living that person in blood, dad and driver uncle picked up that man to car.
In five minutes, his family came there with an ambulance.
What was shocking was that how in the highway his family got the news about his accident and how ambulance arrived without any call just after five minutes of his accident ??
Mom and I were asked to stay at the roadside and they went taking him to hospital along with them.
Medical tests were done, his wounds got first – aid.
The mellow dramma of his families started.
There at the hospital came 300 number of people with weapons and started to shout.
My dad got panicked.
I and mom were restless too, so we got there by a rickshaw.
When mom looked at the scene she could not control her anger and shouted loudly at those to stop shouting at Dad and driver.
She managed the situation and also demanded to call police and inspect the situation.
Now they were calmed down looking at this.
The hospital staff told us that this has became their business.
They send their old family members to highways and ask them to jump to cars and later they demand money for it else they blackmail tourists with police.
The medical reports came and everything was fine in the reports.
Within than time 6-7 more cases of same type, came to hospital.
Blood boiled in my vein.
How can anyone risk their life for ‘money’?
And the sad part was they send the old members and if those members refused to go they don’t give them food in home as throw them out of house.
And more on that trapping families who travelled on highway .
This moved me.
The ladies again began to shout and making noise when we said about police case.
We were only four people so people of hospital said us to do a settlement and give them what they demands because everyone was culprit there.
Looking at dad’s health and shivering , we got scared that if this causes his depression, we finally agreed to give them their money.
And the amount we paid was 1.6 lakh.
And after that we took our car to service station and continued the remaining journey.
My mind then recalled the words of that Grandpaa at Rishiskesh who warned us to be careful.
He was so true .
I don’t wanna believe on cat one thing :pp but somewhere it hits my mind again and again.
To which mamma explains me
That if we don’t think positive things, positive things won’t happen to us.
We were negative regarding the journey from the morning and this all happened.
In the morning when we saw cat we started thinking negative so we must change our thoughts too.
The place was Meerut, (Uttar Pradesh) India.
The sad end.
Notice – Guys if you are traveling alone or traveling on a small car.
There are people who just trap you in their bad deeds making you feel guilty of what you haven’t done.
What if the person dies if the car is fast ?
We will feel guilty for lifetime.
Many crimes happens on roads like looting, and killing people for money.
So be careful.
Don’t stop, to strangers.
People say that kindness is respected but if human beings themselves becomes ‘criminals’ then you cannot expect kindness from anyone.
Stop this act of nuisance.
